Bound In Darkness by Cynthia Eden (Review)

Bound In Darkness (A Vampire/Werewolf Romance)Bound In Darkness by Cynthia Eden

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

As usual, Cynthia Eden shows the quality of her work in yet one more story. Each character, scene, tone, and sequence is tastefully chosen and described. The story line is excellent for such a short novella. The hero of the story, a werewolf, shows his alpha ways of protecting his heroine and his badass attitude with those who wants to bring pain, hurt, and other bad things upon her. I'm not going to spoil it for you; the only thing I can tell you is that it is more than worth spending 0.99 cents to read this story. But if you really want to read two great novellas back to back and have the whole good impression of Cynthia's two "Bound" series, get Bound by Blood first and then this one. They're both 0.99 cents.

I'd Rather be in Paris by Misty Evans (Review)

I'd Rather be in ParisI'd Rather be in Paris by Misty Evans

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This story was not as good as I thought it was going to be. But it wasn't bad either... The only fact that I did not enjoy was the way some scenes were described. It was extremely detailed making it seem that the author dragged the whole scene to its limit. I mean, the book is 832 pages! For it to be this long, it did not included many action packed scenes. When a story has FBI agents, terrorist, and drug mafia groups you would think that the story must be non-stop action or nail biting situations. Another fact that I did not like was the lack of love scenes with the main characters. The sexual tension was somewhat there but not as much as I would've liked. The fist book in the series was excellent. This one was okay for me.

When Blood Calls by J. K. Beck (Review)

When Blood Calls (The Shadow Keepers, #1)When Blood Calls by J.K. Beck

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I don't understand how some people gave this story a three stars... Or even a four stars. I thought this story was excellent. The plot was very original; not what I use to read about the powers and abilities of certain paranormal creatures. It was very interesting to say the least. The author had good taste and I could tell that she carefully chose each character's description. The tone and language was also excellent. It was natural and the flow was accord to what was supposed to happen next. The chemistry of the main characters was palpable and the tension was also tastefully created. The reader (in this case, me) identified the build up from the first chapter. The heroine battles an emotional war between what she wants and what she cannot have which is one and the same. I don't want to give out too much but you won't regret reading this story. At first, I was a little skeptical about it because is the first time I read a story written by J. K. Beck. However, I've got to admit, it was an emotional, action packed, sensitive story from both the hero and heroine. Once I started reading it, I could not put it down and, when I did, I kept wondering what was going to happen. It will keep you wondering and, if you have long nails, well... Let's just say that you will need to get a manicure once you're done reading it.

This series, although is my first book, has a very interesting yet intriguing story. This book sets up the whole scenario which I think it did not lack of any details. I will be reading the next book because an excerpt was conveniently included at the end of this book which I read. It sounds very promising.

Now... I need to get my nails done.
